Merry Christmas Everyone!
My title for today is called, Just You Wait and See!
As I was taking some time to play the piano, a song I wrote in 2020 came back to me called Token. Here are the lyrics:
Verse 1
The world may say you are a token,
The world may say you look broken,
The world may say you are no keep sake,
Make no mistake, make no mistake
You are more than, more than a token,
For God said you will never be broken,
He created you, more than
You’re more than a token, MORE than a token
Pre-chorus 1
You may experience brokenness,
But you will never be broken,
For He that is within you is more than,
Is more than
Echo
I’m not your token
An I’ll never be broken
Just you wait and see, wait and see x2
Verse 2
So when you feel down and done,
And your overwhelmed and want to run
Know you were created for more than,
Your more than a token, your more than a token
So when you feel like you’re not be enough,
And you want to just give up
God said you are my child and you will never be broken.
Echo
I’m not your token
An I’ll never be broken
Just you wait and see, wait and see x2
Bridge
Yes, the brokenness is the beautiful things inside of me, yeah
Yes, the brokenness is the beautiful things breaking out of me
Yes, the brokenness is the beautiful things pouring out of me
Just you wait and see, wait and see x2
We have landed on the last Monday of the year, and hopefully you are bringing in some Christmas cheer as we speak.
I just want to be real. I don’t know about you, but this year has been super hard, and I have felt more broken down physically than any year to date. As I sang this song that the Father sent down to me over three years ago. I was reminded of just how powerful and true these words are today as they were when I wrote them. They actually mean something different to me now as I play them.
I’ve had to walk through so many doctor offices waiting on reports of what the world may say about me. It’s been hard. It’s been confusing. It’s been overwhelming. It’s been scary. I have a feeling it’s been that way for you too as you have walked your own story or walked with the story of others.
Thankfully, by the grace and mercy of the Father, I am still here to testify that He is still good. I can now see that the Father has been grooming me for such a time as this. I can SEE the deposits of truth that are now starting to bear fruit. ☺️
As I was playing, it was the last line that really got me: Just YOU, wait and see!
It got me thinking, what verses in the Bible reference this? And I found a few I want to share with you today.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
-Isaiah 41:10 NIV
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
-Psalms 27:14 NIV
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
-Isaiah 40:31 NIV
I wait for your salvation, Lord, and I follow your commands.
-Psalms 119:166 NIV
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.
-Psalms 130:5 NIV
I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.
-Psalms 40:1 NIV
So you, by the help of your God, return; Observe mercy and justice, And wait on your God continually.
-Hosea 12:6 NKJV
I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.
-Psalms 27:13 NKJV
It’s this last verse that really summarizes my heart here today. I would have lost heart had I not believed. You know I love to cross reference to see if anything else can be drawn out, and the answer is yes, it can.
I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
-Psalms 27:13 NIV
Yet I believe with all my heart that I will see again your goodness, Yahweh, in the land of life eternal!
-Psalms 27:13 TPT
Our confidence in the character of the Father coming through for us is a battle move in the spirit realm. When we can declare this over ourselves, our families, our communities, and especially over the globe, it makes an impact beyond what we will ever understand this side of heaven.
I will see your goodness again in the land of the living. It’s a lifestyle, folks. It’s a choice. The words personally spoken over us, or the words the news and media speaks to us, all try to distract us from the truth, that there is good in the here and now. Let’s not forget, we are carriers of His salvation story. If that isn’t good, then I don’t know what good is!
We the people in the land of the living must declare there is goodness here. There is good still, and there will always be goodness to see, for Jesus has given us joy and hope in the here and now by living and loving in this abiding with Him story.
So, when you feel down and done and want to run, may you be reminded to say, “I’m not your token and I’ll never be broken. Just you wait and see!!”
Here is a link to the song. Share it. Encourage those around you just how good the Father truly is and has been. Amen and amen.
